Important Facts About Bulbs

If you’ve spent a lot of time and effort planting bulbs for a spectacular spring show, here are a few tidbits that will help you be more successful:

*Daffodils and tulips don’t like it too wet, so don’t plant near an irrigation system
*Don’t buy sprouted bulbs… they’ve already spent their energy and won’t bloom
*It takes 3 years for a cormlett (very small corm) to reach flowering size
*Tubers (solid stem tissue) have no orientation… they have eyes everywhere so it doesn’t matter what direction they go into the ground
*Rhizomes need to be planted just barely below the surface
